Spot-Nordic is happy to offer the ColorMeter Exact Spectro-densitometer, a small 45/0 spectral measurement device that fits easily in your pocket, which connects via Bluetooth to your mobile phone (iPhone or Android).
It is perfect for Brand Owners, Designers, Printshops and Manufacturers that are tasked with consistent reproduction of colours.
It includes the M0, M1, M2 and M3 standards, where the M1 condition is the most important one – the condition used to measure colours printed according to ISO 12647. This instrument can consequently be used to measure SMS colours (www.spotmatchingsystem.com) – and to assist Printshops align the process colours for correct printing according to ISO 12647, – whether to Fogra or Gracol standards.
More advanced users can even export the spectral reflectance curve of each measured colour for a closer look into the colour in question.
It enables users to measure their colours and store them digitally in one place, – in their pocket and from then on to share them and do quality checks to compare new products to the same colour targets, defined by their CIELAB values.
No longer do you have to check your products against old printed samples or printed colour guides that are most likely faded, unless they are less than 1 year old and thus no longer a reliable standard to compare against.
Your measured and stored digital colours – the measured CIELAB values however ARE your new standard and you can communicate those CIELAB values to your Printer or Manufacturer so those colours can be checked especially in production.
This is how you actually keep track of the colours you are responsible for.
Included in the price of the Exact is the SMS sRGB colour palette, Standard v6, containing 1.738 media neutral colours for design. The palette is delivered in PDF and ASE format for easy use by designers in most categories.
In addition the SMS Standard colours v6, the library can be accessed directly within the app making it easy to measure any colour to see the closest SMS Standard v6 colour and how close it is (dE00) to the master colour.
If you are using other SMS colour palettes than the Standard v6 (say MAX or ECO) you can always check the LAB value of your colour in your sRGB colour palette in for instance Photoshop to check that the CIELAB (LAB) value of your printed colour is close enough to be OK.

The ColorMeter Exact is of course also capable of measuring and storing colours from other colour systems, such as PANTONE, RAL or NCS – and you can also create your own colour palette from colours you measure from any flat surface.
Users have access to libraries from NCS, PANTONE, and RAL for instance that have been measured with the instrument to quickly look up the closest colour within the respective colour systems. NOTE: Those libraries are not official libraries and thus do not come with any sort of guaranty from the respective manufacturers.
