P20 v5 Standard version: 1.738 labelled SMS colours for on-screen design – sRGB or REC. 709 / 2020 format.

Included (as of September 2023) are the SMS colours in ASE format, suited for Adobe and Affinity apps.

The colours of this palette are suited for brand design, web/app and game design, online videos, AR and VR (sRGB) or Video Graphics (REC 0709/REC 2020).

The basic idea behind the Spot Matching System is that you create your design in sRGB first, present it to your customer (who can simply view your artwork on his laptop or his smart device) and once approved, if you need to print your SMS colours you either convert your sRGB SMS colours to CMYK yourself, or order the print variations from sms@spot-nordic.com and replace the sRGB colours with their CMYK counterparts for your print layout.

For maximum convenience we propose that brand owners that wish to use SMS colours in their brand identities subscribe, rather than ordering individual print variations. SMS subscription costs EUR 600 pr. year and includes all possible print variations required for the chosen SMS colours along with technical assistance and communications with printhouses and design agencies as needed to ensure the correct outcome in reproduction of SMS colours by multiple sources.

Included in the price is a 12 month license to use the SMS colours of your colour palette for 1 brand/1 company or institution as a registered SMS user, which also gives you access to order SMS services and technical support from Spot-Nordic.

You can inform sms@spot-nordic.com as soon as you start using SMS colours officially, – for your company/brand or for a customer – and your license to use the SMS colours will then be 12 months as of date of notification.

As a Brand Owner using SMS colours as your brand colours, to maintain your SMS license after 12 months, you must either subscribe to SMS  (see www.spotmatchingsystem.com/services) or renew your license to your P20 colour palette – i.e. buy a new P20 colour palette every 12 months. Renewal price is EUR 60 pr. year, pr. palette.

For professional Designers/Agencies, this simply means that each SMS customer (company or brand), that they work for, needs to either be an SMS subscriber or at least own a valid (less than 12 month old) copy of their P20 SMS colour palette.

Designers/Agencies may optionally order/renew on behalf of their customers, as long as we know their identity and have an up-to-date copy of their brand identity with their SMS colours displayed and listed and saved on file, which is necessary to avoid mistakes when services are ordered (colour variations, printed SMS tickets etc.).

It is essential that we are kept in the loop whenever changes are made to the visual identity of an SMS customer and that copies of all layouts, listing all SMS colours are emailed to sms@spot-nordic.com in jpg format (72 dpi). The ID of the end user/Brand Owner must be included in all cases.

Each end customer (Brand Owner) receives their own unique customer ID, which has to be used, everytime a service or product is ordered for, or on behalf of that customer.

A Designer or Agency that purchases a P20 colour palette may at any time inform Spot-Nordic if they want to use their customer ID for a customer. In this case that ID will be allocated to the end customer (Brand Owner), while the Designer or Agency is typically the contact who handles orders of SMS services and products.

In the case where more than one Designer/Agency is working on behalf of the same customer, we will keep the accounts separate, while the SMS layouts of the customer will be stored in the same location. This helps us to step in, if we see that incorrect SMS colours are being ordered. In that case we will inform the party placing the order, but will not contact the Brand Owner, unless they are an SMS subscriber and we have been authorized to make direct contact.
